The Doctrines of Christ that Ted Weiland Won't Teach.

By John Hurt

One doctrine that Ted will not teach is that Christ said that we should not accept money for teaching about Christ, as the Words of Christ were given freely without money and should be received freely without money:

In Matthew 10:8, Christ said to the followers of His message that “freely ye have received, freely give.”

No money should change hands for teaching the Words of Christ, like the millions of dollars given to Benny Hinn, Charles Stanley, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, and many other men who make their money in the way that Christ prohibited.

These men make a mockery of the Words of Christ.

I had to obey this same command. I wrote Bible software for several years, and in 2012, when I understood that this verse prohibited me from accepting payment for providing the Bible as software, I made every Bible software download on my website “free” at no cost. The result was that my Bible software went MUCH FURTHER around the world than if I had charged money for it. And God blessed me in many ways.

Christ told us not to take money for teaching the Bible, and I have found a great blessing in this.

Peter also teaches that we should preach the Words of Christ willingly and not for money, which Peter calls “filthy lucre”:

1 Peter 5:(2) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

Taking money, or "filthy lucre," is what corrupts the Words of Christ. Every man who takes money to teach the Bible will do more to please his audience than Christ.

No one can follow money and follow Christ at the same time, as these are two separate “masters.” As Christ said in Matthew 6, you cannot serve the two masters of God and “mammon,” which is money.

Matthew 6:(24) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

This statement by Christ is why I believe that Ted Weiland does not teach any sermons based on the doctrines of Christ, not even once.

I think Christ is right and money can be your master. Like many pastors and ministers, it is all about money and prestige, and not Christ.

I believe the reason Ted doesn't teach the doctrines of Christ to his audience about "freely giving for freely you have received" is because his followers would no longer give him money.

And Ted Weiland definitely wants you to give him 10% of your money to him as your supposed "tithe" to Ted Weiland's personal "Kingdom Ministry."

Just listen, if you can, to Ted Weiland's 13 part sermon on tithing. Ted definitely wants you to send him a donation. Ted Weiland is serving the wrong master.

Ted Weiland is not under the control of the Elders and Deacons at a church. He does teach at a small fellowship, but his online presence and fundraising activities are entirely controlled by him.

When you give donations to Ted, where does your money go? Ted has no food pantry or homeless charity. He does not have the overhead of a church building. All of your donations to Ted Weiland go just to Ted, with no accountability, financial reporting, or anything. How much does Ted Weiland make off your donations? No one knows but Ted.

Any donations that we send to Ted Weiland will have nothing to do with helping poor people.

Ted Weiland teaches that many parts of the Mosaic Law have been abolished, such as the Sacrificial Law. At the same time, Ted Weiland teaches that if “more people would tithe to Kingdom Ministers, we would have a greater kingdom.”

Yet the Tithe that Ted wants you to give him is part of the Sacrificial Law that Ted said has been abolished.

How can Ted say the Sacrificial Law has been "abolished," yet still ask us to keep the part of the Sacrificial Law that Ted likes, such as the Tithe?

Money makes people do strange things.
