A Review of Ted R. Weiland
and Mission to Israel Ministries

Should you Donate to an Online Minister, or Give Your Money to the Poor?

By John Hurt

Christ said to His ministers in Matthew 10:8 that "freely ye have received, freely give."

In this verse, Christ says that there should be no payment made to a true teacher of Christ.

Of the poor, Christ said in Matthew 25:41-46 that if you neglect the poor, then you have neglected Him, and you are worthy of eternal punishment.

If we neglect the poor by giving our funds to online "evangelists," then we have neglected Christ and will be held accountable.

Likewise, Proverbs 29:7 states:

(7) The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Giving to the poor and taking care of them is how we are found to be righteous and have honor before God.

Proverbs 14:(31) He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

I believe that those who give to a rich man's "online ministry" and ignore the poor will be a reproach to his Maker.

And from experience, I know that you will be happy when you give to the poor.

Proverbs 14:21 "but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he."

I know this is true. When I quit donating to online ministries and gave directly to the poor, I found great blessings from God. My life was changed for the better.

When we give money to an online "evangelist" that operates outside of God's Law, and does not follow the Commandments of Christ, then we share in the guilt of the person who received our donation. There is no blessing in giving money to these lawless online "evangelists," as they are already wealthy. These rich men, who want for nothing, don't need or deserve your donations. They need to work, just like you do. Only the poor in this world should receive your funds.

I would like to ask you to find someone who is in need in your own community, and donate to them in secret, as Christ commanded us. (Matthew 6:1-4). Try giving all of your donations to the poor for a few months, and you will find great blessings.
